Support Girls on the Run as a Community Runner!GOTR-header

Support Girls on the Run of Puget Sound and girls in the community by signing up to participate in the Spring 5K as a Community Runner! The 5K is an untimed, non-competitive, female empowerment event that is open to everyone; including families, strollers and dogs! The 5K will take place this Saturday, May 7th, at Magnuson Park. The Start/Finish line will be on the paved waterfront trail near the grassy area north of the boat launch.

Volunteer at the 5K!

Not planning on running or walking the race? Sign up to volunteer and help us ensure 850 girls cross the finish line!

Girls on the Run is a life-changing after-school program for girls in the 3rd through 5th grade. Their mission is to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.

Running is used to inspire and motivate girls, encourage lifelong health and fitness, and build confidence through accomplishment. At each season’s conclusion, the girls and their Running Buddies complete a 5K running event. Completing a 5K gives the girls a tangible sense of achievement as well as a framework for setting and achieving life goals. The result—making the seemingly impossible, possible and teaching girls that they can.

So head on out to Magnuson this Saturday and support a great cause! Also, for more information check out the Girls on the Run website at www.girlsrun.org.
