Starting Physical Therapy

What should I bring with me to my first appointment?

Please bring your insurance card & ID card, and a referral from your Doctor (if you need one).

And make sure to complete your intake forms before you arrive in our Patient Portal »

What should I expect?

We start by discussing your medical history and concerns, then move into a physical exam where we evaluate overall health, joint range of motion, muscle strength, posture, nervous system function, biomechanics, and soft tissue mobility. Then we will develop a treatment plan to address the findings from our exam. We provide treatment that reduces pain and inflammation, increases joint range of motion, improves posture, and improves strength through manual therapy, exercise, and education.

Do I need a referral for physical therapy?

In the state of Washington, you do not need a referral to see a physical therapist.  However some insurance plans require that you get a physician’s referral.  It is best to contact your individual insurance plan to check their requirements.

How long is each session?

Every patient is scheduled for 45 minutes with a physical therapist.

Where should I park?

We have a parking lot conveniently located behind our building. If you are walking or biking, we are directly off the Burke-Gilman trail at the intersection with 36th Ave. NE.

What should I wear?

We recommend you wear loose comfortable clothing that will expose the body part we will be treating, and allow you to move freely.

“Shana and Kelcey are AMAZING. I worked with both PT’s over the course of several months due to a work related back injury. They were so accommodating to my work schedule and listened to what was important for my lifestyle. They really knew how to personalize my care and patient education. When I wanted to know what was at the root of my injury, Shana looked into it and continue to unfold the story. I would recommend these ladies to ANYONE. SUPERB!”
