The women of the Nu Chapter of Alpha Xi Delta at the University of Washington are hosting the fifth annual AMAXING Challenge 5K Fun Run benefiting Autism Speaks, the largest autism research and advocacy organization in North America. The event will be held on Sunday, April 17th at Green Lake Park in Seattle. 100% of the proceeds benefit Autism Speaks.

PrintIt’s time we come together to raise awareness, compassion and hope for the 1 in 68 individuals affected by autism, and that one special person who makes a difference too – YOU! College students, friends, family members and neighbors are all working hard to change the future for those living with autism spectrum disorders. By participating in this event you get us all one step closer to finding the causes and treatments for autism, while raising unprecedented support for this complex disorder.

Autism Speaks is an autism organization that, along with its predecessor organizations, has been a source of funding directed towards the causes and treatment of autism spectrum disorders; it also conducts awareness and outreach activities aimed at families, governments, and the public. Autism Speaks goal is “to accelerate and fund biomedical research into the causes, prevention, treatments and cure for autism spectrum disorders; to increase awareness of the disorder; and to improve the quality of life of affected individuals and their families”.

Your generous contributions will help Autism Speaks advance their efforts so families everywhere can finally receive the attention, answers and support they deserve. Thank you for supporting Autism Speaks’ mission to change the future for all who struggle with autism spectrum disorders.
