What is the treatment for ankle and foot pain?
Your Physical Therapist might recommend one or more of the following treatments after reviewing your symptoms and examining your foot or ankle.
Manual therapy
Ankle rehabilitation can benefit from hands on manual therapy to improve soft tissue restriction in your foot and ankle, improve joint mobilization, and improve the health of sprained ligaments. Your Physical Therapist will help identify the techniques you need that will help you return to your prior level of activity.
Augmented soft tissue mobilization
Tendinopathy, plantar fasciitis, and ankle sprains are common injuries that can benefit from augmented soft tissue mobilization. During augmented soft tissue mobilization, we use instruments to reduce unwanted scar tissue and promote tissue healing. ASTYM® and Graston Technique® are common forms of augmented soft tissue mobilization.
Exercise prescriptions
Your Physical Therapist will develop a home exercise program geared toward improving your mobility, strength, balance, and sports performance by using stretching, functional strengthening, and progressive balance and stability exercises.

“Love this place and these ladies! I was a patient of Kelcy and Shana’s back when they worked in Ballard, and they helped me tremendously with my low back issues.
Since then I’ve screwed up my knee (and it turns out my hip) and they are putting me back on the road to recovery. I will be running again soon! Pros: Parking lot, friendly sta, hour appointments.Cons: I have to drive here or ride my bike from Ballard.”
