Shawnee Perkins, PT, DPT
Shawnee believes in establishing a strong patient-therapist relationship and working together to create individualized treatment plans to achieve patient goals.
Shawnee earned her Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Pittsburgh in 2017 and developed a strong background in orthopedics, exertional therapy, and manual therapy. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science in 2014 from the University of Montana. She enjoys treating patients of all backgrounds including sports and work-related injuries, post-operative rehabilitation, and age-related changes. Shawnee has particular interests in knee rehabilitation and exertional therapy helping post-concussive athletes return to play.
Her treatment approach focuses on neuromuscular training and proper body mechanics to foster long term activity participation. She believes that education and patient-specific training are key to preventing injuries and promoting optimal function.
Shawnee enjoys spending time with her family and exploring the great outdoors. She was raised in Alaska and takes every opportunity to hike, camp, and walk her energetic pup, Honey. She promotes and keeps a healthy lifestyle, loves baking, and is an avid gym-goer.
